Agua by Maria is our mother and daughter dream, created from a lifelong connection to the sea, warmth, femininity, and the feeling of home found near the water.

Marcela, originally from Belém, grew up surrounded by the richness of Brazilian culture and nature. Throughout her life, she lived in many different cities across Brazil, but no matter where life took her, the ocean was always present.

For her, water was never just a place, but a feeling.

She has always felt a deep emotional and spiritual connection to the sea, something that became part of her identity. Even her name, Marcela, carried a meaning she loved to joke about — a combination of céu (sky) and mar (sea), two elements that always made her feel most alive and at peace.

Maria Luiza grew up carrying this same connection. Living between different countries and cultures helped shape her creative and international perspective through fashion, travel, art, and storytelling. While experiencing life abroad, she realized how deeply Brazil remained part of her identity — especially the warmth, energy, sensuality, and vibrant beauty that define Brazilian culture.

No matter how much our lives changed or how many places we called home, there was always one thing that stayed the same: every vacation, every important memory, always brought us back to the beach.

The sound of waves, salty ocean air, golden sunsets, barefoot walks, and endless summer afternoons became our definition of comfort, freedom, and belonging.

The beach was never just a destination for us. It was the place where we felt most connected — to ourselves, to each other, and to home.

Over time, this emotional connection naturally transformed into inspiration.
